TLP FC 2023-4 flying course tooK place from Monday 13th November to Friday 1st December 2023, with a duration of 3 weeks.
The total number of participants was approximately 700, with 39 of them graduating from this flying course, including 28 pilots, 6 intelligence officers and 5 GCI controllers.
Flight missions were carried out from Monday to Friday in the afternoon, and started on Monday 20th November, as the first week was dedicated to academic activity and flights in the MACE simulator.
The nations participating as Blue Air in this flying course provided 28 platforms and were Italy, Spain, France, Poland and United Kingdom.
As for the opposing force (Red Air), there were a total of 10 aircrafts from France, participating with Alphajet, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom with Eurofighters, and the Czech Republic with L-159s.
AWACS support was provided by a NATO E-3 Sentry flying out from Moron AB in Southern Spain, while a Dassault 20 from Draken International flying out from Albacete AB carried out EW (Electronic Warfare) missions. An MQ-9 Predator of the Spanish Air Force participated in a TLP course for the first time.
CSAR exercises were also scheduled for the third week of the course, with two HH-101 Caesars from the Italian Air Force and an NH-90 of the Spanish Air Force.
During TLP 2023-4 course the NATO TLP team received the visit by HM King Felipe VI of Spain who flew in on Nov. 22 aboard an AS.332 Super Puma helicopter. He met high-ranking officers of the Spanish Air Force and he was briefed on the course, toured the TLP facilities and met members of the participating air forces.
