The 2007 edition of The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF FAIRFORD (UK) showed the rare appearance in Europe of the famous team USAF Thunderbirds, as a part of the celebration for USAF 60th anniversary, and that presence, together with the Indian Air Force delegation (Su-30MKI and IL-76) surely made this airshow one to remember in the 2007 season.
The weather unfortunately was really good only on the saturday but the big and good-quality flying display captured the attention of the public on both airshow days.
The flying display showed the partecipation of some of the best fighters such as the USAF F-15C, the F/A-18s from Switzerland and from Finland, the Eurofighter Typhoon (Spanish and English), the F-16 from Belgium and the Netherlands. The 2007 was also the last display season for the Stealth fighter F-117A wich will be retired in 2008. The RAF put together a great Role Demo show with fires and explosions, showing a perfect team work of all the RAF types (Awacs, Tornado GR4 and F3, Hawk, C-130).
Display teams from USA, Spain, Italy (Frecce Tricolori), Jordania and the Red Arrows were in the display programme too. A special flypasts was arranged for the Saturday show day: Red Arrows + 3 Spitfires... a fantastic sight in the saturday blue sky!
